Facing Fear

What it means

Everyone feels afraid sometimes, even people in the Bible. We can bring our fears to God and to trusted grown-ups.

Bible text
When I am afraid, I will put my trust in you.
Psalm 56:3 · World English Bible (public domain)

What would you do?

You have to sing a solo in the school concert, and your tummy feels full of butterflies.

Feeling afraid doesn't mean your faith is weak. God is with you, and it's always okay to ask for help.

If someone is hurting you or making you feel unsafe, tell a trusted grown-up right away — a parent, teacher, or another safe adult. Forgiving someone never means you have to keep a hurtful secret or stay somewhere unsafe.

Practise it

Make a 'brave plan': one prayer, one deep breath, one person you can talk to.

Think about it

What helps you feel brave?
