Moses grew up and later lived in Midian, where he cared for his father-in-law Jethro's sheep. One day near the mountain of God, he saw a bush on fire — but it wasn't burning up!
God called to Moses from the bush and told him to take off his sandals because he was standing on holy ground. God said he had heard his people crying out in Egypt and was sending Moses to Pharaoh to bring them out.
Moses was afraid and asked, 'Who am I?' God promised, 'I will be with you.' God told Moses his name: 'I AM WHO I AM.' When Moses worried he wasn't good at speaking, God sent his brother Aaron to help.
God sees when people are suffering and he cares. Moses didn't feel ready, but God promised to be with him. When God asks us to do something, he helps us do it.
Now therefore go, and I will be with your mouth, and teach you what you shall speak.”
